'DreamLand' is the second film by Melanie Martinez. It accompanies her third studio album of the same name.

Plot[]

The film begins where K-12 ended: with Cry Baby, Angelita, Magnolia, Celeste, Fleur, and Ben outside of Sleepaway School, and with Cry Baby trying to decide whether or not they should accept Lillith's offer and travel through her gateway. Cry Baby decides to step through Lillith's gate, with her friends close behind. (DreamLand).

The friends awaken to find themselves in DreamLand, and are greeted by Vesta, who tells them of this strange place, takes them to the Palace of Dreams, and introduces them to the other Guardians of Dreams, who watch over people's dreams and, sometimes, send them messages through them.

They are given bedrooms to sleep in at the Palace of Dreams, and Cry Baby quickly falls asleep, and slips into her dreams. In her dream, she finds herself in an unknown place. It is similair to DreamLand, but she notices it's darker. She decides to explore the place, stepping into an empty palace. (Head in the Clouds).

Just as Cry Baby is about to open a door in the palace, Sun, a Guardian of Dreams appears. She tells Cry Baby that she must awaken, in order to get out of her dream. Cry Baby, despite being curious about the odd place, agrees, and wakes up to find herself back in her bedroom at the Palace of Dreams, where she is alone.

In the morning, she asks the Guardians of Dreams about the place in her dreams. They refuse to tell her, which only fuels her curiousity. The dreams continue, but Cry Baby is never able to figure out where she is, and never meets anyone else in the palace.

One day, she speaks to Angelita about her dreams, and they decide to visit the Palace's library to search for answers. There, they find a book titled 'City of Nightmares' which tells them of the other side of the Dream World, there is a place called the City of Nightmares, which is similair to DreamLand, however, there nightmares are cared for, and there are Guardians of Nightmares, who give people nightmares and can also send messages through them, not unlike the Guardians of Dreams. (Sleepwalker)

After learning this, Cry Baby is determined to find and visit the City of Nightmares, though the Guardians of Dreams quickly learn of her plans and discourage her. One night, when Cry Baby is visiting the City of Nightmares in her dreams, she meets Sun in her dream again. Sun attempts to convince Cry Baby to stay in DreamLand, and warns her of the dangers of the City of Nightmares. (Lullaby)

Cry Baby is convinced by Sun's words, but only temporarily. The dreams still carry on, becoming more and more paranormal. Soon, Lillith tries to assure Cry Baby that she shouldn't go to the City of Nightmares, but Cry Baby remains undeterred. (Guardian of Dreams)

That night, Cry Baby isn't alone at the Palace of Nightmares. When she enters the throne room, she meets Moon, the princess of the City of Nightmares, who encourages her to come to her kingdom, and offers to take Cry Baby there. Cry Baby, without hesitation, agrees, and Moon takes her hand, and they suddenly aren't just in the City of Nightmares of Cry Baby's dreams, but in the real place. (Insomniac)
